About Bee
Bee Doyle is a nurse practitioner, intuitive healer, and spiritual teacher who uniquely bridges the worlds of medicine and metaphysics. As a combat veteran, her own path to wellness began after returning from a tour in Afghanistan, where she navigated the complexities of post-traumatic stress and a lost sense of purpose. Today, she is the owner of Double Libra Astrology, where she blends her medical background with evolutionary astrology, ancestral healing, and embodiment practices to guide others toward a holistic state of empowered living.

Bridging Science and Spirit: My Conversation with Bee Doyle
In the latest episode of Just Like Nana, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Bee Doyle, a woman who stands at the intersection of medical science and deep spiritual wisdom.
Bee’s story is fascinating. She is a nurse practitioner, a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan, and the owner of Double Libra Astrology. Her journey from the front lines of war to the front lines of soul-centered healing is a powerful testament to what happens when we finally listen to the call of our own spirit.
The Winding Road: Why Healing Isn’t a Straight Line
One of the first things Bee and I discussed was the frustration so many of us feel when we think we’re failing at healing. We live in a culture that loves a before and after narrative—a clean, linear progression from broken to fixed. But Bee reminded us that the soul doesn’t work on a timeline.
She described the healing journey as a winding road, full of twists, turns, and the occasional need to double back. There were times in her own life, particularly after her military service, where she felt completely stuck. She had the medical knowledge, but her spirit felt disconnected. She taught us that feeling “backwards” is often just your nervous system taking the space it needs to integrate a new level of safety. If you’re feeling stuck today, I want you to hear Bee’s words: that stuckness might actually be the quiet before a major breakthrough.
The Captain of Your Ship: Reclaiming Sovereignty
Bee’s background as a nurse practitioner gives her a unique insider view of how trauma manifests in the body. We talked about how chronic fight or flight responses—that feeling of always waiting for the other shoe to drop—can eventually lead to physical symptoms like autoimmune issues or chronic fatigue.
By using somatic tools—things that bring us back into our physical senses—we can signal to our bodies that the “war” is over. Only when the body feels safe can the spirit begin to explore things like astrology or ancestral connection.
A Tool for Your Pocket: Heavy vs. Light
Bee shared a brilliant tool for building intuition. She calls it “Heavy or Light.”
Our bodies are constantly communicating with us, but we’ve often been taught to ignore them in favor of logic. Bee suggests practicing with small decisions. Ask yourself a question and notice the immediate physical reaction.
- Light: Does your chest feel expansive? Do you feel a sense of upward energy or a slight smile? That is your body’s “yes.”
- Heavy: Do you feel a sinking in your gut? A tightening in your throat? A sense of restriction? That is your body’s “no” or “not right now.”
Building this somatic muscle allows us to discern our own truth from the inherited truths of our family or society. It’s a way of reclaiming your intuition, one small light feeling at a time.
Ancestral Resilience: More Than Just the Wounds
While Just Like Nana focuses on ancestral trauma, Bee brought up a point that I think is vital for our community to remember: we didn’t just inherit the wounds; we inherited the resilience.
Our ancestors survived long enough for us to be here. They had tools, humor, recipes, songs, and a strength that allowed them to navigate their own winding roads. Bee encouraged us to look for the positive tools in our lineage. Maybe your Nana’s resilience showed up in the way she tended her garden, or the way she made sure everyone had a seat at her table. When we claim those gifts, we provide a softness to the hard edges of our history.
The Ripple Effect of Softness
We ended our conversation talking about self-compassion. It can feel like a buzzword, but Bee described it as a community tool. When you show up for yourself with grace, you change the energy of the people around you.
Softness is contagious. When you regulate your own nervous system and treat yourself with kindness, you are teaching your children, your friends, and even your ancestors that safety is possible. You are creating a ripple effect that moves both forward and backward through time.
I invite you to get cozy, grab a tea, and listen to the full episode with Bee Doyle. Let her journey from the desert of Afghanistan to the stars of evolutionary astrology inspire you to stay on your own winding road.
